Batman: Arkham Asylum - Gotham Villans & Gameplay

Screen shots from Bataman Arkham Asylum let us in on two major facts. First, Killer Croc looks awesome! Second, it seems that there will be some cool puzzle solving and detective work - take a look at the Riddler's blood written message.

Game developers have also disclosed that even some of the boss fights will involve puzzle solving and the use of the Dark Knight's gadgets and environments in just the right way to defeat them. Detective work will be incorporated through the use of Batman's visor which will highlight special forensic devices, and points of interest so that you can metaphorically follow the trail of bread crumbs. With a combination of detective work, puzzle solving, amazing comic book based graphics, and the nostolgic Batman characters this game is shaping up to be spectacular.

Resident Evil 5 – the new El Gigante & Demo

Resident Evil 5 is promoting its game in full force. In combination with their viral marketing campaign, Kijuju, the Resident Evil 5 demo was also available on Xbox 360 marketplace. The viral marketing campaign is currently at stage 3 and is featuring the new “El Gigante” boss. He is one bad looking giant that is fully equipped with a beard, gnarly giant drool, and a belt to which he hangs his victims.

The demo featured 2 short stages; one taking place in an African town with all of the villagers gathered to see an execution conducted by someone that with aviator glasses and a megaphone. After the executioner swings his giant axe to appease the crowds’ demands for blood, the man with the megaphone see Chris and Sheva and instructs the villagers to take you out. Its then your turn to play out the scenario and try to survive as hoards of infected Africans rush at you, including the huge axe wielding executioner. The other stage features the gameplay seen in most of the RE 5 trailers where Sheva jumps from the second story of one concrete building to another. Chris is left to use his sharp shooting rife skills to take enemies down while Sheva makes her way to unlock the door. Afterwards, the freaky chainsaw enemy comes through a gate and forces you to unload all of your ammo and more just to kill him. You end up sweaty, tense, and gripping your controller as you dodge the monsters in this game. RE 5 will be released March 13, 2009.

GOD OF WAR 3

For those that own the PS3, a jaw dropping game is heading your way! This God of War 3 preview will blow your mind with a stunning cut scene of Kratos battling through hordes of skeletons to finish the fight with a giant. However, some giants can be quite puny compared to others. Hint** some of the monsters in this game are enormous. Game Director Stig Asmussen stated that the gameplay physics of Kratos wouldn’t have even been possible on the PS2. Before you get too excited for this game, realize that it probably won’t be out until 2010.

Batman: Arkham Asylum

Game developer Edios, is planning a global release of Batman: Arkham Asylum, a new game for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC sometime during 2009. The game has been described as a “haunting, action detective game”. The game’s story and graphical look has been co-developed with the Batman comic book creators to give this game some real backbone. Early screenshots and preview trailers clearly show that this game is going to be a graphically unique, dark, and high action game as gamers get their shot at taking down Gotham’s most vile villains. Some of the villains include the Joker, Scarecrow, Two-Face, Killer Croc, Penguin, and the Riddler.
