Game developer Edios, is planning a global release of Batman: Arkham Asylum, a new game for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC sometime during 2009. The game has been described as a “haunting, action detective game”. The game’s story and graphical look has been co-developed with the Batman comic book creators to give this game some real backbone. Early screenshots and preview trailers clearly show that this game is going to be a graphically unique, dark, and high action game as gamers get their shot at taking down Gotham’s most vile villains. Some of the villains include the Joker, Scarecrow, Two-Face, Killer Croc, Penguin, and the Riddler.

Screen shots from Bataman Arkham Asylum let us in on two major facts. First, Killer Croc looks awesome! Second, it seems that there will be some cool puzzle solving and detective work - take a look at the Riddler's blood written message.
Game developers have also disclosed that even some of the boss fights will involve puzzle solving and the use of the Dark Knight's gadgets and environments in just the right way to defeat them. Detective work will be incorporated through the use of Batman's visor which will highlight special forensic devices, and points of interest so that you can metaphorically follow the trail of bread crumbs. With a combination of detective work, puzzle solving, amazing comic book based graphics, and the nostolgic Batman characters this game is shaping up to be spectacular.
